Important Lineage

Master Yuen, Karen Bauer’s teacher, apprenticed from the age of three with his adoptive grandfather, a Taoist priest and physician who had been trained by physicians from the Inner Court of the last emperor of China.

Lost Practices

During the domination of Mao Tse-tung, the ancient Taoist practices were abolished. They secretly survived, and today, because of Master Yuen’s teachings, Karen Bauer practices meridian systems that are no longer known by the modern (TCM) acupuncture practitioners. These meridian systems, healing channels, were personally passed from teacher to student because the spiritual mastery of the teacher was considered the most important element in the student's development.

Working with these little-known meridians, this nearly lost healing art serves the patient’s physical, emotional, spiritual, emotional wellness. Using acupuncture, healing herbs, and essential oils, Karen Bauer is continuing this 5,000-year-old tradition of transformative medicine in New York City.  She plans to teach this system to other acupuncturists online and in live courses.
